Using product content recommendations to boost your Shopify store

A walkthrough of how OmniGraph identifies, prioritizes, and improves weak product content with just a few clicks.

Once you’ve connected your Shopify store to OmniGraph (it’s free and fully self-service), you’ll land on your main dashboard. While the overview gives a general sense of store performance, the real action happens in the list of recommendations on the right. This list is sorted by impact, so the first item shown is the one you should pay the most attention to.

These recommendations might include things like restocking inventory or — as in this example — optimizing product content. Take the EverPath Backpack. It’s been flagged with a health score of just 26%. That score reflects the quality and completeness of its content based on OmniGraph’s analysis. When a score is low, OmniGraph automatically generates targeted recommendations to improve it, such as rewriting product descriptions, translating content, or updating SEO listings.

Clicking into a recommendation opens a detailed product view. You’ll see the product at the top, along with a breakdown of how it scores across different recommendation types. Below that, you’ll find OmniGraph’s Product Recommendation Graph, a visual summary of insights. (That feature has its own dedicated video, so it’s not covered in this article.)

This walkthrough focuses on a rewrite recommendation. Clicking in reveals a clear before-and-after: on the left is your current Shopify description, and on the right is OmniGraph’s improved version. The updated copy is written to be more appealing, easier to understand, and better optimized for search — all while keeping the original details intact. You can edit it if you like, but most users won’t need to.

You’ll also see a word-by-word difference view for transparency. If you’re satisfied, you can hit Apply and the new description will be pushed live to Shopify within seconds. If you’re not quite happy, you can reject the recommendation or choose Reject and Rerun, which allows you to leave feedback that OmniGraph will use to generate a new version. You can also choose to ignore the suggestion for now or postpone it to deal with later.

OmniGraph is designed to be transparent about what it’s doing. A “Generation was based on” section reveals the exact inputs used to create the recommendation, including tone of voice and branding preferences. These are fully customizable to fit your store’s unique identity.

Once you're happy with the description, apply it and you’ll see a green border confirming that it’s live. You can then apply other suggestions like translations and SEO listings to keep improving the product. When you're done, move on to the next product on the list.

While this article focused on improving one product at a time, OmniGraph also supports bulk actions — such as rewriting all your product descriptions in one go. That’s covered in a follow-up video.
